Ferran Torres ‘agrees’ personal terms with Man City

Manchester City have taken a step closer to signing Valencia winger Ferran Torres.

According to Eurosport Spain, sources close to the player told the Spanish outlet that Torres’ representatives met with Man City on Wednesday night.

The purpose of that meeting was to discuss the player’s contract should he move to the Etihad.

The Spanish winger’s contract expires in 2021 and there are no signs indicating that he is agreeing a new contract at Valencia. At the same time, Valencia has missed out on Champions League football for next season.

With that in mind, the Spanish club may look to cash in on one of their biggest assets. That would leave City in a favourable position in dictating the value of the player.

The 20-year old has been a shining light in what has been a disappointing season at the Mestalla Stadium. He has featured 43 times for Valencia in all competitions, scoring six times and assisting his teammates a further eight times. He has also shown his versatility playing anywhere across the front line this season.

It is though that manager Pep Guardiola sees Ferran Torres as the perfect replacement for Leroy Sane. The German winger has left the Etihad to join German champions Bayern Munich.

The Manchester club has recently had their Champions League overturned and they look ready to once again splash the cash.
