David Silva set to Join Lazio after a decade with Manchester City

After a glittering decade of brilliance and excellence, David Silva will reportedly join Serie A outfit SS Lazio on a three-year deal once Manchester City’s Champions League campaign ends.

Lazio are reportedly set to snap up David Silva as a free agent. He would move to the Stadio Olimpico on a three-year deal, according to Sky Sport’s Fabrizio Romano.

A Premier League Legend

It’s been 10 years since David Silva moved to the Premier League, signing for Manchester City from Valencia. Since then, the Spaniard has been simply outstanding.

He received an emotional send-off at the Etihad during City’s 5-0 victory over Norwich City in what was his final Premier League appearance. He was substituted in the 85th-minute, bringing an end to his illustrious and trophy-laden career in England.

David Silva registered 124 assists and scored 77 goals for Manchester City since his £26million move in the summer of 2010.

He holds the all-time assist and appearance record for the Cityzen’s in their 140-year history.

The World Cup winner, who made 309 league appearances in his decade-long stay at the club, has won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and two FA Cups.

Next Step for David Silva

The 34-year-old is reportedly headed to the Serie A to join SS Lazio. He had previously stated his desire to play in the Italian League until he clocks 40.

He claims to have at least another five years left at the top of his game and Lazio have offered him a three-year deal.

Sliva still has plenty to offer. Last season, he played over 2,500 minutes in all competitions for Pep Guardiola and made 17 goal contributions.

He joins a Lazio team with superstars like Ciro Immobile, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto. He would also be managed by a well-renowned manager in Simone Inzaghi. No doubt a creative genius like David Silva can take the Biancocelesti further in their hunt for the famous Scudetto.
